Frameplay is the global leader for intrinsic in-game advertising, headquartered in San Francisco, California, with employees working fully remote across the globe. Our mission is to bring the attention-grabbing power of intrinsic in-game ads—which never interfere with or degrade the gameplay performance or experience—to the entire industry. Joining Frameplay means working with revolutionary technologies in the gaming and AdTech space while being part of a fast-growing, collaborative, and globally distributed team.

About the Role

We are seeking a Controller (Global Consolidations & Portugal Expertise) to join our Finance team. This role will own Frameplay’s multi-entity global close and consolidations across the U.S., Portugal, U.K., and Australia, while also serving as the company’s in-house authority on Portuguese accounting, payroll, and tax compliance. You will manage third-party accounting and tax vendors across jurisdictions, oversee intercompany activity, and drive process improvements in systems and controls. This is a full-time, permanent, globally remote role reporting to the SVP of Finance, with one direct report (Accountant). Role Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and Portuguese statutory accounting, payroll, and tax requirements.
  • Oversee intercompany transactions, loans, and transfer pricing.
  • Drive projects to upgrade financial systems, tools, and processes to support automation and scale.
  • Maintain and optimize Xero multi-entity, multi-currency reporting.
  • Support global cash management, treasury, and cross-border funds flow.
  • Develop, mentor, and expand the accounting team, starting with one direct report.
  • Partner cross-functionally with HR, Sales, and Operations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Support board-level financial reporting, investor requirements, and audit readiness.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Expertise in Portuguese accounting, payroll, and tax compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience in global consolidations.
  • Comfortable working with Portuguese accounting/tax software (e.g. TOConline, Primavera, Sage Portugal, or similar).
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English.
  • 6–10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 3 years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leadership role.
  • Experience managing multi-entity, multi-currency consolidations.
  • Skilled at working with and managing third-party vendors.
  • Proven ability to improve accounting processes, systems, and controls.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • CPA, Chartered Accountant, ROC, or equivalent credential preferred.
  • Nice to have: Experience in AdTech, media, or gaming industries.

Benefits / Reasons to Work at Frameplay

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Opportunity to own the global controllership function of a scaling, venture-backed company.
  • Fully remote role, with flexibility to be based anywhere in the world.
  • Be part of a passionate team building the future of gaming and AdTech.
