Hybrid Training Specialist/Instructional Designer

This position offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge training programs for advanced technology systems in a remote setting. Candidates must be within a commutable distance as they will be onsite about 10% of the time, the other 90% can be done remotely. Job Description

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Trainer to support the INTAS program. This position plays a key role in developing high-quality technical training for Australian military and civil customers. The ideal candidate will have experience working with government training requirements, a strong technical skill set in air traffic control or surveillance systems, and the ability to execute and coordinate training initiatives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop military-compliant training materials, updating instructor guides, student manuals, job aids, and other content to meet military standards and learning objectives.
• Partner with subject-matter experts and stakeholders to assess training needs, define learning outcomes, and customize solutions for specific platforms and user groups.
• Maintain and revise courseware for new functionality and parts, implementing updates, version control, and configuration management to ensure content reflects current standards.
• Plan, coordinate, and deliver multi-component training projects, developing schedules, resource plans, and milestones, and managing cross-functional tasks to ensure on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery.
• Conduct iterative reviews by running review sessions, collecting reviewer feedback, and refining materials based on results.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical and instructional issues during development and review phases, escalating risks and implementing corrective actions to preserve schedule and quality.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in MadCap Flare, Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint (preferred)
• Experience in technical writing and document control.
• FAA/DoD/MIL compliance knowledge.
• Capability in training development and instruction.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in engineering, instructional design, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or
• MA/MS degree in engineering, instructional design, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience, or
• 3+ years of direct experience in military, aerospace, or complex technology-based training systems.
• Skills in HTML template writing, content management, and content development.

Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
