About the Role: Driving Success through Data-Driven Insights As an Entry-Level Data Scientist with Delta Airlines, you'll be part of our Operations Research and Decision Support (ORDS) team, where you'll develop and deploy data science and predictive modeling tools to drive business decisions. You'll work closely with our experienced data scientists to analyze complex business problems, develop machine learning models, and create data-driven solutions that enhance the air travel experience for our customers. Key Responsibilities: What You'll Achieve Collaborate with existing data scientists to develop advanced analytics solutions for complex business problems, driving business growth and improvement. Gather and analyze data using SQL queries, performing exploratory data analysis to identify trends and insights. Present findings to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, using data storytelling techniques to drive business decisions. Develop and deploy machine learning models using Python, SciKit Learn, R, SAS, or other AI platforms, driving innovation and improvement. Work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Essential Qualifications: What We're Looking For To succeed in this role, you'll need: A graduate degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or Computer Science, demonstrating a strong foundation in data science and analytics. Experience working with relational databases, querying data using SQL, and performing data analysis. Knowledge of machine learning techniques and AI platforms, such as Python, SciKit Learn, R, or SAS, with the ability to develop and deploy models. Excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex findings to stakeholders. A commitment to safety, security, and diversity, embracing different people, thinking, and styles. Preferred Qualifications: Nice to Have While not essential, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge: Experience working in the aviation industry or a related field, demonstrating an understanding of the business and its challenges.
