About the Role: Substitute Teacher in Leonardo, NJ

We're seeking an experienced and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our community in Leonardo, NJ. Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher
• Deliver lessons and activities as planned by the regular teacher or as assigned by the school administration
• Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment
• Communicate effectively with school staff, students, and parents
• Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your designated Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback and develop your skills
• Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your teaching practices

Essential Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
• Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor
• NJ Substitute Credential
• Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this)
• Full COVID-19 vaccination
• A passion for education and putting students first
• An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Substitute Teacher or in a related educational role
• Special education experience or training
• Experience working with diverse student populations
• Strong classroom management skills
