About the Role

As a Licensed Therapist with Uwill, you will play a vital role in supporting the mental health and well-being of college students through teletherapy sessions, crisis support, and wellness services. This is a unique opportunity to work in a part-time, remote setting with flexible scheduling and the freedom to choose your own hours. As a 1099 independent contractor, you will have the autonomy to manage your caseload and practice in a way that aligns with your values and expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage an ongoing caseload of clients from initial session to graduation from care
  • Conduct video, telephone, or chat sessions with students using evidence-based practices and SMART goals tailored to their needs
  • Practice culturally competent care to meet the needs of a diverse client base, including first-time therapy seekers, BIPOC students, LGBTQ+ students, first-generation students, veterans, and athletes
  • Adhere to Uwill's risk assessment and management process, including assessing for risk during initial sessions and as needed thereafter
  • Complete session notes within time frame expectations and respond to student messages in a timely manner

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., counseling, psychology, social work)
  • 2 years of experience providing therapy in a telehealth setting using a variety of modalities
  • Independent license to practice mental health therapy without supervision (e.g., LPC/LMHC, LCSW/LICSW, LMFT, or PsyD)
  • Professional liability insurance
  • HIPAA-compliant professional and secure location to perform sessions
  • Ability to provide sessions via Zoom on a computer or laptop with a camera and microphone

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience working with college students or in a similar setting
  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices and treatment modalities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to relate effectively to a wide range of people
  • Ability to assess risk and refer to Uwill's Clinical Support team as needed

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risk and make sound judgments
  • Ability to work with a wide range of individuals presenting mental health concerns across broad levels of acuity
  • Empathy, professionalism, and the ability to meet students where they are
