About the Company and Role

Workwarp is partnering with Tesla to fill this critical role. As a Software Engineer in Tesla's Autopilot AI group, you will work closely with hardware designers, embedded programmers, and ML specialists to plan, model, and implement a web service responsible for interfacing with existing and future distributed systems for ML training. This is a remote opportunity with immediate openings available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set technical direction, design, implement, and maintain backend API stack for AI integration of a highly distributed system.
  • Work on the infrastructure of tools and systems that the AI team needs to be effective, spanning the scope from machine firmware interface to frontend UI.
  • Automate and direct required hardware resources with the team managing the cluster hardware to maintain high availability.
  • Collaborate with both AI and hardware design teams to understand current and future requirements and priorities.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Solid experience building APIs in Python, GoLang, Node.js, or Java.
  • Experience working in multithreaded or highly distributed Linux environments.
  • A BS/MS in Software Engineering or equivalent experience with proof of exceptional ability.
  • Interest in AI, Computer Vision, or Neural Networks.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following skills and experiences are highly desirable:

  • Experience building modern web applications using React or similar component-based libraries.
  • Experience working with large computer clusters.
  • Experience working with distributed networks and IoT integration.
  • Experience working with job management software such as Slurm or LSF.
