About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Online Faculty member for our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner track on a part-time basis. This remote opportunity is ideal for individuals who are experts in their field and committed to providing the finest in practitioner-focused education. As an Online Faculty member, you will play a crucial role in inspiring students to complete their programs, providing regular, meaningful feedback, and encouraging them to engage fully in their education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspire students to complete their programs by providing regular, meaningful feedback about their academic performance, development, and participation.
  • Engage students in meaningful asynchronous threaded discussions, moderating participation, evaluating responses and rationales, and responding to questions or comments.
  • Evaluate academic progress and comprehension of course content through assigning and grading quizzes, exams, and writing assignments.
  • Exhibit Chamberlain Care by displaying behaviors of care, respect, and professionalism, creating a culture that fosters collaboration, cooperation, and respect among all.
  • Be readily available to meet the needs of a diverse student body and identify opportunities to enhance student engagement.
  • Bring your professional experience to life through professional development, introducing industry perspective into courses, and sharing information about nursing trends and opportunities with students.
  • Promote student success by demonstrating flexibility in style, schedule, and exhibiting your passion for teaching.
  • Foster a positive learning environment by maintaining accurate records, submitting grades on time, and enforcing academic policies.

Courses of Instruction

As an Online Faculty member, you may be required to teach a variety of courses, including but not limited to:

  • NR-546: Advanced Pharmacology: Psychopharmacology for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
  • NR-547: Differential Diagnosis in Psychiatric-Mental Health Across the Lifespan Practicum
  • NR-548: Psychiatric Assessment for Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
  • NR-605: Diagnosis and Management in Psychiatric-Mental Health across the Lifespan I Practicum
  • NR-606: Diagnosis and Management in Psychiatric-Mental Health II Practicum
  • NR-607: Diagnosis and Management in Psychiatric-Mental Health III Practicum
  • NR-668: Capstone Practicum & Intensive

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • MSN and DNP or PhD in nursing degree are required.
  • At least 1 year of practice experience directly in psychiatric mental health nursing is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years teaching experience is required; preferably at the graduate level.
  • Online teaching experience is highly preferred.
  • Must have active unencumbered RN nursing license; compact licensure is highly preferred.
  • Must have Illinois RN license or be willing to obtain prior to start date.
  • Must have an active unencumbered APRN nursing license (PMHNP specialty).
  • PMHNP National Certification is required for APRN candidates.
  • Must have subject matter expertise in the course of instruction.
  • Faculty must have excellent communication, motivational, and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

The expected compensation rate for this position is between $850/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate's education and experience. Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law. We also offer a range of perks and benefits, including:
