About the Role

As a Data Engineer at Blithequark, you will be responsible for partnering with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and databases. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the smooth operation of data acquisition processes, data validation, and ETL/ELT data pipelines. You will also be involved in various data engineering activities, such as:

• Data requirements gathering and source-to-target planning
• Data validation and review
• Data visualization and reporting
• Developing and monitoring ETL/ELT data pipelines
• Designing and implementing database schema, tables, and views
• Delivering datasets as input to science models and visualizations

Key Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer at Blithequark, your key responsibilities will include:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and databases
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and develop data products
• Ensuring data quality and integrity through data validation and review
• Developing and monitoring ETL/ELT data pipelines using tools like SQL, Python, and Docker

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in ELT/ETL data pipeline development and support
• Proven experience with Python and SQL, preferably with Snowflake
• Experience working in a multi-environment (Dev, QA, Prod, etc.) and DEVOP methodologies for code deployment and development
• Experience creating and maintaining automated work schedulers
• Strong understanding of relational database design and functionality

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, ideally cloud-based, like Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
• Proficiency in cloud architecture and product offerings, preferably AWS
• Experience managing and delivering code using source control tools like GitLab/GitHub
• Experience using Docker
