We're building a world-class Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization at Verizon, and we're seeking a Lead Financial Analyst to join our team. As a Lead Financial Analyst, you'll play a critical role in driving business growth and innovation by providing strategic support and insights to our senior leaders. You'll be responsible for analyzing business trends, developing financial plans, and identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the end-to-end process of various senior leader presentations, including WD5 Consolidation, Monthly Verizon Leadership Council review, and Quarterly Balanced Scorecard
- Prepare final monthly analyses of business trends and budgeting variance of financial results and Key Performance Indicators to be used in management reviews and strategic business analysis sessions
- Develop in-depth analysis of business performance and recommend action plans, including gap closures, considerations for managing cost, growing revenue, and profitability
- Define data requirements for planning, forecasting, and reporting processes, and identify opportunities for process improvements
- Conduct strategic business analysis with overlays and commentary, and create final performance reporting, including business insights, ad-hoc analysis, and recommendations to executive management
- Proactively identify possible scenarios, risks, and opportunities around business performance, and model/assess performance scenarios to analyze risks and opportunities
- Communicate with partners in a clear and concise manner, and provide excellent customer service to internal stakeholders
What We're Looking For:
To succeed in this role, you'll need:Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
- Four or more years of relevant work experience in financial planning and analysis, finance, or accounting
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA)
- Understanding of corporate financial planning, reporting, and analysis, and costing/profitability methodologies and processes
- Knowledge of common business and cost drivers, financial statement analysis, and deep-dive analysis
- Familiarity with the preparation of General Ledgers, Basic Knowledge of FASB requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Proficiency in Essbase, Smart View, Hyperion Planning, and Hyperion Strategic Finance
