As a Data Engineer II, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data systems that power our business decisions. About the Role

As a Data Engineer II, Ring Data Warehouse, you will be responsible for gathering and discussing requirements from business partners across various verticals, such as Memberships, Sales, Logistics, Finance, and Product. You will build new data ingestions using a combination of local AWS services and in-house Amazon tools, ensuring data quality and cleanliness. Your primary goal will be to design and implement scalable data systems that meet the evolving needs of our business partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and discuss requirements from business partners across various verticals, such as Memberships, Sales, Logistics, Finance, and Product.
  • Build new data ingestions using a combination of local AWS services and in-house Amazon tools.
  • Maintain and improve existing data ingestions, ensuring they meet evolving standards and corporate mandates.
  • Develop and implement systems or tools for internal team and external partner use to manage data.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure best practices are followed for ETL and data cleanliness by colleagues and supporting teams.
  • Collaborate with partners to understand their needs and work closely with them to ensure data being ingested addresses their business requirements.
  • Learn and adapt quickly to new technologies and business needs, assembling and improving systems and processes.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on designing and building large-scale data systems.
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of SQL and data querying.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AWS technologies, such as Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, Fire Hose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS.
  • Experience with non-relational databases/data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases).
