Senior Data Analyst - Health Economics Outcomes Research - Canada

Our client, an innovative, client-focused boutique HEOR consulting firm is growing! We’re looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join their team.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistics and proficiency in statistical programming using SAS and/or R and must have experience in health care.In this role, you will utilize real-world data to conduct a range of health care economic, clinical effectiveness, and burden of illness analyses to support pharmaceutical products throughout their life cycles, across a range of disease areas.This opportunity is for you if you’re looking for an environment where you can play a big role in study design and analytics, and where you will have the opportunity to analyze and explore different types and structures of data. Therefore, you may face dynamic challenges that will require you to have an out of the box, solutions driven approach.In this role, you will be responsible for the design and analysis of studies that inform healthcare decision-making and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for their clients. In this role, you will:

  • Conduct statistical analyses to derive insights from complex healthcare databases, ensuring accuracy and relevance to client objectives.
  • Write statistical code and collaborate with other biostatisticians across projects for code and results auditing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement HEOR studies for large pharmaceutical companies.
  • Develop and validate statistical analysis plans to assess treatment effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, and patient outcomes.
  • Communicate findings through comprehensive reports and presentations, translating complex statistical concepts into actionable recommendations for clients.
  • Reference EMR (electronic medical records) and claims databases and work with data vendors.

Skills & Experience:

  • Master’s or PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Programmer or Data Analyst within the HEOR or pharmaceutical industry, or a relevant industry.
  • Proficiency in statistical programming languages including SAS and R is required; experience with other programming tools (e.g., Python, Stata) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of statistical methodologies and their applications in health economics and outcomes research.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, entrepreneurial spirited and an openness to out of the box creative problem solving.
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) databases and claims databases is required.
