QA Engineer - DB monitoring

Key Responsibilities

• Test Execution and Contribution:
• Execute and contribute to comprehensive test strategies for our web application, APIs, and backend services.
• Work within an agile framework to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.

Quality Advocacy:

• Perform manual and exploratory testing to identify defects.
• Collaborate with developers and product managers to ensure a high-quality product.

Automation:

• Contribute to and maintain our automated test suites using Playwright (with a preference for JavaScript).
• Help increase test coverage and reliability.

Database Validation:

• Perform database testing by writing and executing SQL queries to ensure data integrity.
• Work with various databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.

CI/CD Integration:

• Work with our CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins) to integrate automated tests.
• Ensure quality gates are met at each stage of the delivery process.

Scripting and Tooling:

• Use Python and Bash scripting to assist in creating testing tools and automating QA processes.

Container Testing:

• Test containerized applications within Docker and AWS environments.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience in database testing (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) with good SQL and data validation skills.
• Experience with test automation frameworks, preferably Playwright and JavaScript.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python and Bash.
• Familiarity with CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Proficiency with the Linux command line.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker.
• Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Additional Experience Desired

• Experience with monitoring tools, such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Experience with test case management software (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr, Jira plugins).
• Experience with API testing tools like Postman or REST-assured.
• Basic experience with a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
