About the Role

As a Pharmacist at Walgreens, you'll play a vital role in delivering patient-centered care, counseling patients on medication use, and providing clinical services such as immunizations and health screenings. You'll work collaboratively with our healthcare team to ensure seamless pharmacy operations, optimize patient outcomes, and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Experience: Engage with patients, address their concerns, and provide personalized support to ensure a positive experience.
• Patient Counseling: Offer expert advice on medication use, side effects, interactions, and contraindications, and refer patients to healthcare providers when necessary.
• Pharmacy Operations: Ensure accurate and efficient dispensing of prescriptions, manage pharmacy workflow, and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Clinical Services: Provide immunizations, health screenings, and other clinical services to patients, and participate in community outreach initiatives.
• Collaboration and Leadership: Work with pharmacy staff to promote a positive and inclusive work environment, and support the development of colleagues through training and feedback.
• Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements, and pursue ongoing education and professional development.

Essential Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Pharmacist degree from an accredited institution.
• Licensure: Current pharmacist licensure in the state of Texas.
• Experience: Strong knowledge of state and federal controlled substance laws, and experience with prescription dispensing activities.
• Certifications: Certified Immunizer or ability to become certified within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a pharmacist in a retail setting, with a strong background in prescription filling and verification, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, and pharmacy software and technology systems.
• Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and pharmacy staff.
