We're seeking a dedicated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Representative - Specialty Mail Order Pharmacy, working remotely to support our patients receiving life-sustaining specialty drug therapy.

About the Role: Providing Exceptional Patient Care through Effective Communication

As a Pharmacy Service Representative, you will be the primary point of contact for patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies, ensuring seamless coordination and processing of new patient medication orders and reorders. Your superb communication skills will be essential in resolving complex customer needs, addressing financial and clinical expectations, and providing personalized support to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and process new patient medication orders and reorders, verifying and revivifying benefits to ensure timely fulfillment.
  • Translate and enter new or refill prescriptions into the pharmacy information system, communicating and collecting copay amounts as needed.
  • Obtain authorizations, work with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams to screen, identify, resolve, and defer orders with accounts receivable or clinical issues.
  • Provide compassionate, genuine care for patients and customers, addressing their concerns and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Utilize Windows-based applications, including Microsoft Office, internet navigation, and email applications, to efficiently manage customer interactions and resolve issues.

Essential Qualifications:

  • One year of experience in a customer service role, handling and resolving a high volume of complex customer needs over the phone.
  • One year of work experience with Windows-based applications, including Microsoft Office, internet navigation, and email applications.
  • One year of computer keyboarding experience, with demonstrated skills and aptitude.
  • Verifiable high school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six months of experience resolving a high volume of complex customer needs over the phone.
  • Healthcare work experience and familiarity with benefits, insurance, prescriptions, and medical terminology.

To excel in this role, you'll need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize with patients and customers. You'll also require strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the capacity to navigate complex customer issues and resolve them efficiently. Additionally, you'll need to be proficient in using technology, including Windows-based applications and email systems, to manage customer interactions and resolve issues.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits:

The typical pay range for this role is $22.00 - $36.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors.
