Security NetScout Engineer - LanceSoft Inc.

We are seeking a highly skilled Security NetScout Engineer to join a dedicated security-focused team supporting a critical 24x7x365 Federal program. This mid-level role is ideal for a multidisciplinary professional with strong experience in network performance engineering, security monitoring, and cloud environments.

In this fast-paced environment, you will leverage NetScout nGeniousONE across diverse technologies, including Azure, other public clouds, and hybrid on-premises environments. The position requires expertise in network performance management, traffic inspection, and application data flow analysis to safeguard controlled data and enhance enterprise-wide security visibility.

You will collaborate with security engineering teams (firewall, Prisma Access, DLP, etc.) to deliver comprehensive network and security insights while working directly with clients and peers to proactively identify threats and optimize network performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and manage NetScout nGeniousONE in production environments, integrating with InfiniStream/ISNG appliances.
• Analyze network traffic flows, system interactions, and application integrations to diagnose connectivity and performance issues.
• Collaborate with security teams to strengthen enterprise-wide controls, including Palo Alto Firewall, Prisma Access, and DLP solutions.
• Support hybrid environments across cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and on-premise infrastructures.
• Identify and document critical information flows, ensuring secure application and data delivery across environments.
• Develop network topology and system interaction diagrams using tools such as Microsoft Visio and Lucidchart.
• Troubleshoot in Linux/UNIX environments and interact with systems via CLI, SSH, RDP, and web-based UIs.
• Provide clear, effective communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in network performance or security engineering.
• Extensive experience with NetScout nGeniousONE platform and InfiniStream/ISNG appliances.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, SNMP).
• Proficiency with remote access VPN technologies (SSL VPN, IPsec VPN) and enterprise solutions like Palo Alto GlobalProtect and Cisco AnyConnect.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
• Knowledge of Linux/UNIX environments and OS-level troubleshooting.
• Skilled in diagramming and flow analysis tools (Visio, Lucidchart).
• Hands-on with Microsoft 365 applications and Teams for collaboration.
• Must hold at least one of the following certifications: Security+ CE, CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, CND, CASP CE, CISSP, or CSSLP.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications: NetScout Certified Export (NCE), Wireshark WCNA, CCNA Security, CISSP.
• Experience with Federal Security Standards such as NIST, DoD, and FedRAMP requirements.
